Documents and copies outside ShifaTH

Deleting a document from ShifaTH does not delete every copy everywhere. A Provider may already hold an independent copy outside the platform.

What ShifaTH controls

ShifaTH controls its own stored document content and platform access. When authorized document deletion begins, new platform views and downloads are blocked. The completed deletion process removes platform-controlled readable content and generated copies.

What a receiving Provider can retain

An authorized Provider may view or download a document delivered to it. If it saves or imports that file into its own system, the resulting copy is independent of the ShifaTH platform copy.

What deletion means and its limits

After platform deletion, request or conversation history may show that a file was sent and later deleted, without keeping the file readable or downloadable there. ShifaTH cannot erase or certify deletion of an independent copy a Provider retained before that deletion. Platform deletion is not a universal recall.

Ask about the copy you mean

For a question about a document or an independently retained copy, identify the relevant Provider and document when seeking privacy support. The handling of Provider-held copies is separate from deleting platform content.
