Manage care for another person

Use your account to manage an allowed patient profile for a family member or friend, while keeping their information and history separate from yours.

When this can help

You may be arranging a request for a parent, child, spouse, sibling or friend. ShifaTH supports close family relationships and Friend under its profile rules. The patient does not automatically need a separate account for you to manage their profile.

Select the right patient profile

Select the person’s existing profile if you have access, or create one where allowed. The request should use the profile of the person who will receive care. If an active profile already exists, use the approved access or claim path instead of creating a duplicate.

Keep each person’s information separate

Use the patient’s profile for their documents, requests and appointments. Managing it through your account does not combine their history with yours.

Identity requirements depend on the action

A profile can start incomplete. Identity or passport information may be required for patient-specific medical or official appointment actions. A patient selfie is not required just because you created a profile for them.

If the patient wants their own account later

The patient can create an account and use the verified claim process for their existing profile, including the required passport and selfie checks. After approval, the same profile and history are linked to their account. This does not create a new patient history or automatically preserve your previous management access.

Continued help can use delegated access

Once the patient owns the profile, they can grant another person selected management permissions. Those permissions define what the person may do; delegation does not transfer profile ownership.

A relationship label has limits

Choosing “Friend” or a family relationship does not by itself prove legal authority or authorize every action. Access remains subject to the applicable ownership, identity and permission requirements.
