Questions about ShifaTH
1. What is ShifaTH?
ShifaTH is a patient–provider access and coordination platform focused on participating hospitals and clinics in Thailand. It helps patients and the people managing their care organize provider discovery, requests and communication.
2. Is it only for people living in Thailand or the Gulf?
No. ShifaTH is designed for people seeking healthcare in Thailand from around the world. Its initial provider focus is Thailand, with operational concentration in Bangkok.
3. Can I browse without an account?
You can browse public provider information before signing in. Sign-in is required to start a request, send a message, upload a file or take another action linked to your account.
4. Can I make arrangements for someone else?
Yes. You can create or manage a patient profile for another person where you have the required authority. The patient profile is separate from your sign-in account.
5. What can I ask a hospital or clinic?
Hospital requests support general inquiries, price or cost inquiries, medical case reviews and appointment requests. Clinics use inquiry and appointment requests. The information required depends on the request and the applicable rules.
6. Do I need a passport just to ask a general question?
A general hospital inquiry does not require a completed passport or medical reports, though it uses a basic patient profile. Other requests may require more information. Medical case reviews and official appointment requests require the relevant identity information; a price inquiry’s requirements depend on its context and the provider’s applicable policy.
7. Can I send my request to more than one hospital?
Yes. In the hospital request flow, you choose one, several or all currently participating hospitals. Each selected hospital receives a separate request and conversation. One hospital cannot see the other hospitals selected or their requests.
8. Does sending a request confirm an appointment or a doctor?
No. A request communicates what you would like to arrange. A separate appointment confirmation establishes the appointment details. A publicly displayed doctor profile does not guarantee that doctor’s availability or assignment.
9. Who receives my messages?
Direct communication with the provider through ShifaTH is the default. Where staff coordination has been specifically arranged, authorized ShifaTH staff manage the communication between the two sides. A human coordinator is not included in every request.
10. Will all hospitals see my documents?
No. You select ordinary medical reports for sharing in a particular request. A provider does not gain access just because a file exists in your patient profile. Passport delivery follows separate requirements, including approval of the first delivery of each required passport version to that provider.
11. Does deleting a file remove a copy already saved by a provider?
Deleting a patient-owned document removes the platform-controlled content through the platform’s deletion process. ShifaTH cannot delete a copy that a provider previously downloaded or imported into its independent system.
12. Does ShifaTH provide medical care or choose treatment for me?
Healthcare providers remain responsible for clinical decisions and the care they deliver. ShifaTH organizes access and communication; it does not make the provider’s clinical decisions.
13. What does a verified-visit review mean?
A public review requires confirmed attendance. The person who created the relevant request may write the review once eligible, including when they managed arrangements for someone else. Sending an inquiry or requesting an appointment alone does not qualify.
14. Can I call or email a hospital directly through ShifaTH?
The ShifaTH provider journey uses the request and its in-platform conversation. Public provider pages do not publish direct phone, email, WhatsApp or LINE details that bypass this journey. ShifaTH’s own company contact channels serve company and platform inquiries.
15. Are service prices or response times guaranteed?
A published price may have conditions and is not necessarily the final cost of an individual patient’s care. Request the relevant details from the provider through ShifaTH. The platform does not promise a universal provider response time or guaranteed appointment outcome.
16. How can a hospital or clinic participate?
Contact ShifaTH through the partnership contact point to discuss participation. The team reviews the interest and the steps for agreement and setup. The team handles follow-up directly. Expressing interest does not automatically create an active organization account.
